The short-form problem
TikTok and Reels are unforgiving. You have 15–60 seconds to hook someone. If you stumble, pause too long, or break eye contact to check your notes — the viewer swipes.
A teleprompter solves this by putting your script right where you're looking: next to the camera lens.
The setup (5 minutes)
Install VoxiPrompter on your laptop
Download from voxiprompter.com/download. The AI engine is bundled — no internet needed after install.
Paste your script
Open the Script Editor tab, paste your lines. For short-form, you'll typically stay under 1,500 characters (free tier).
Open mobile display on your phone
Go to Remote Access tab → scan the "Mobile Display" QR code with your phone. Mount your phone right next to or behind your recording camera.
Press Start and record
Hit Start Prompter on your laptop, start recording on your phone/camera. Speak naturally — the text scrolls with your voice.
Pro tips for short-form
- Write like you talk — scripts that sound natural feel natural. Read it aloud once before recording.
- Increase font size — on a phone screen, you want large, high-contrast text. Go to Visual Controls → Mobile profile → bump font size to 4–5 rem.
- Use high contrast colors — white text on black background (#FFFFFF on #000000) is easiest to read from a distance.
- Position near the lens — the closer your phone display is to the camera lens, the more natural your eye line looks.

Most TikToks and Reels fit within the free 1,500 character limit.
